Although Hal Steinbrenner promised, or threatened, a major overhaul of the Yankees, apparently there will be little change. Although people have criticized the over-reliance on the analytics staff, and Steinbrenner pointed to that staff as part of the team's problem in 2023, Cashman insists that everything is hunky dory. He points to the Yankees having won 99 games in 2022 as proof that the 2023 team would have won just as much except for injuries. Anything other than steady-as-you-go is BS, he says.
