Beal would start on many teams but on the really good ones he would be a third or fourth option. Both Philly and Boston have wanted him. He would have to play some defense though.
basically, before Brown developed into the second wing and they made a commitment to Smart as the point guard and one of the defensive foci, they thought about possibly Beal as taking the comlplmentary role to Tatum.
