Haven't followed closely but sounded more like they were a 5 seed.
Loyola was criminally underseeded. They have the profile of a 2 seed. 3 at the lowest. They are number one in the country in defensive efficiency. Number 8 in KenPom’s overall ratings.
The committee really screwed over Illinois and Georgia Tech.
