go look at the replay posted above. The ball is already in the SS hand before Rendon crosses. The throw comes home instead of towards 2d, maybe there's a play, maybe there isn't. It'd be close enough that Soto had to try to draw the throw.
Yeah, still not convinced though it's not as clear cut as I saw with the naked eye. But my argument is that Sendley was signaling for him to get to 3B and slide. Oh, wait. Maybe that's not my argument.
The speed of the game is really hard to judge from the stands and even more so on TV. So I trust Soto's instincts on that one.
