Do we have a consistently dominant starting pitcher in our farm system yet? We definitely need one. I thought Willems was supposed to be, but outings like that only happen once in a blue moon to dominant pitchers.

Willems is still very young (19). It's hard to determine who is consistently dominant in our farm system since the season just started. Guys to look out for are the obvious ones: Detwiler, Balester, Mock, and a couple of others.

Willems had a solid K/BB ratio, though, at 4/0.  Having given up 8 hits, it looks like he got pecked to death.  It's too early to tell.

I'd be on the look-out for Smoker and Detwiler.  Too bad we'll have to wait for short-season ball to see Smoker.

the best we have is detwiler, obviously, but hopefully throught the draft we can improve. although a solid pitcher, detwiler is not projected to be an ace like that of the potential of david price, clayton kershaw, etc., but it is a very deep draft, pitching-wise. a few of the options:

LHP Brian Matusz
RHP Gerrit Cole
RHP Aaron Crow
RHP Tim Melville
RHP Alex Meyer

He plays 1B this year I think so maybe not but if we could get him to SS over the off-season he could be on the roster by 2009 he will be 26 then he could play SS till the prospect in the middle infield that we hopefully draft will have some time to develop and could be up by 2012 give us 2 1/2 years with the guy.

He's WAY too huge to play SS. He has never played a middle infield position in his career. He has, however, pitched in a minor league game before.

i'm sorry, but what?

have you actually SEEN Luis Jiminez?  he's built like a tank, and he is left-handed.

I bet we have a better pitcher than Hill in Potomac alone. (Detwiler) If Hill had stayed healthy i may ahve had a different opinion but IF

Updates

COLUMBUS
-Kory Casto 1/4, R
-Estrada 2/5, RBI
-Boone 3/4, 2RBI
-Escobar 2/5, R, RBI
-Tyler Clippard 4.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, L

Not a good outing for Clippard and we don't really have any hitting prospects up there.

HARRISBURG
-Roger Bernadina 0/4, R
-Maxwell 0/3, 2 R
-Luis Jimenz 2/4, R, 2 RBI
-Lefave 1/5 ,2 RBI
-Hinckley pitched 3.0 IP 3 ER and 1 K

Not to great but the Jimenz kid is making a serious case for us to cut Broadway.

POTOMAC
-Chris Marrero 1/4, R, RBI, BB
-Ross Detwiler 5 IP, 7 K, 3 H, 1 BB

Looking ok

Langerhans goes 2/4 with a Run and a Stolen Base. He is now hitting .455 and is posting a .571 OBP.

Mike Daniel went 4/4 with a Double, Run, 2 RBIs and a stolen base in Harrisburg. This is one guy to definitely pay attention to.

Yeah, Daniel is whooping ass again. He has real potential. He could be a great trade piece, or he might even make it here in a few years as a leadoff hitter. Probably better to go w/ the former, though. Either way, it's nice to have him in our system.
