I'm not his biggest fan, but he produced well in the two years before this one when he dealt with injury. He's got all the physical tools in the world, he's shown the beginnings of using his body to hit for power and he's developed a propensity for getting on base. That's a good prospect. You're referring to a Brian Goodwin/Anthony Rendon/Matt Skole level prospect right now.

Almost none of this is true, by the way. He had one year as a 21-year old in high-A where he did all of this, and has done almost none of it at any other time. He's a corner OF who's stolen more than 6 bases in a season once, and has had an ISO of more than .100 once in 3 years of full-season ball.

He also does not have "all the physical tools in the world". If he did, he would be able to play CF, steal more bases, project for more than slightly-above-average power, be known for a great arm, or something else that indicated "all the physical tools in the world".

He has decent tools that might project (in an ideal world) to 15-20 steals and a .350/.475 OBP/SLG from a corner OF. He's several years away from doing that. He might turn into Justin Maxwell, in other words, which would have gotten me excited in 2007. However, in our organization right now a C+ guy like that is a non-prospect.
