Reminds me a bit of Mike Maroth's story. He had to be a bit of a sacrificial lamb for some bad Tigers clubs, then got squeezed from the rotation once they became division winner / contender. Lannan I think had much more success than Maroth ever did, and should end up somewhere in the majors next year.
