Honestly don't care. I don't buy the LH bat thing. There's enough guys on this lineup who hit well whether it's righty or lefty. I don't see the point in investing a lot of money in a guy who will not be able to replicate his numbers. Thats money we're all going to want for our young guys.
I don't see the point in worrying about him falling short of his numbers this season. 33 HR aside, he's a reliable defender and yeah, a decent LH bat. What's wrong with giving him an extension for those reasons?
Even if he gets a 3rd year, that's money that will be off the books by the time any of the core "young guys" hit FA.
