I don't think the team should trade Espi. Having three good middle infielders is vital...look at the Yankees without Jeter.

Having said that, it is on Espi to prove he can get a bat on the ball. His 17 homers is no big deal compare to 190 K's. If Lombo hits a steady .290 -- and he was about .300 when he started in August -- that contributes more than Espi's 3 home-runs a month and rally-killing strike-outs.

Extra thought: Espi seemed to improve his hitting in July / August, then fell off in September. How much of the fall-off came from his sore shoulder? If his healed shoulder helps him hit .280 with more like 120 K's, then he is golden.
