My wife will never understand that. She kills any spider she sees. Meanwhile, our gardens get eaten by insects and we have a house full of moths and mosquitoes. 
Most of the time I take down spider webs in particularly visible places outside the spiders end up stringing up new webs right where I normally walk. Revenge?
Nothing like walking straight into an invisible spider web.
I tolerate spiders as long as the respect the rules of the house. Hanging in your web in a corner is cool. hanging or dropping in any place I walk or sleep, not so cool.
