I was reading a blog entry by Jay Jaffe at si.com about how the Orioles are doomed to not make the playoffs for a variety of reasons, one of them was their records in 1-run and 1 or 2-run games which he maintained is unsustainably high. So I was checking those numbers at baseball-reference and discovered another team that has an incredibly high and likely unsustainable record in those games, the Braves of Atlanta.

The Braves have the 3rd highest winning percentage in both 1-run games and 2 or less run games.  In 1-run games, the Braves winning percentage is .640. Their Pythagorean winning percentage in those games is .538.  In 1 or 2 run games, their winning % is .596 and their Pythagorean winning percentage in those games is .528.  They’ve won a lot more of those games than they should.  They’re due to lose a lot of those games over the remainder of the season.

Whats their W-L to Pythagorean though?
