Angels pitcher Jerome Williams was taken to the hospital after his start in Monday's series opener against the Giants due to shortness of breath. He was pulled after 3 1/3 innings, and gave up four runs on seven hits. The right-hander also walked three and struck out one while throwing 75 pitches, 40 for strikes. Williams was charged with his fifth loss of the season in the 5-3 defeat.
