really frustrating loss today, i got to watch a few innings, listen to a few on the radio, and follow the last 3 via mlb.com.   The play at home looks close enough that I can't complain, it was a perfect throw.

The problem with the "close call" idea is that Tim Timmons can't call it a close call.  He has to call it safe or out and he called it out despite the fact that he couldn't have seen him as out...because he wasn't.  Now we have to wonder why he called him out.  If it was a "close call", why didn't he call him safe?  Thee was some sort of predisposition or disposition to call him out.  Hell, look at where Moore could have been tagged, around the midsection.  Just from the place of the supposed tag, it would have been likely, even if you couldn't see it, that his hand would have touched the plate first.
