I think we can take the series tonight. If they start teeing off like they did early...then we can hold the lead.

This team has shown it can put up decent #s. They just lack consistency.

And I hope Zmann can get a win tonight and improve his W-L.

Also, I really hope Harper calms down after last night. He had a hot start and needs to continue to stay hot in order to stay up.

Sad that Zmann is 1-3 even though he has a 2.29 ERA.  They need to give him some support tonight.

Let's go Nats. Go ahead and win the series tonight.

As it is, we've won the head-to-head series with the Reds this season (currently up 4-1 with two matches left)

Two other out-of-division series that will be sorted out in the coming homestand in 2-match home series:

San Diego - Nats currently up 2-1 - a sweep or split and Nats win the season series
Pittsburgh - Pirates currently up 2-1 - Nats need sweep to win season series

In fsct the only season series the Nats are mathematically incapable of winning is with the Dodgers - can still salvage 3-3 split with a sweep in the September Nats Park series.

I think it's a mistake.

Needs to clear his head, learn not to push so much.

I'm really not. The kid needs to be able to have fun if the Nats will be his long term home. He may need a break from time to time, but a break doesn't mean fun, it means a break. Davey's gonna take every opportunity to help Bryce learn *how* he should be handling himself. Like to show him how to hit the wall without smacking himself in the head or junk.

Right now he just needs to get out there, overcome slamming himself in the face with a bat, and start making contact with the ball rather than his noggin. That's way more fun.

P.S. I always watched WWF more often back in the day when a steel cage match had lots of blood. Made for better TV. I'll take Rowdy Roddy Piper vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka in a cage match over Paul Orndorff vs Jim "The Anvil" Nideheart in a normal ring any day.

This will play no part whatsoever in his decision to stay/leave.

I had a feeling Bam Bam would talk Davey into letting him play.  Hopefully he'll use the bat for better purposes tonight! :ballbat:

latos is tough (and i wish the nats got him), but i think harper responds with a good game tonight.

i think we may end up sweeping this series.

Tonight is Joey Votto bobblehead night at GABP so I would expect another LARGE crowd. Possibly even a sellout.

There was a report in the media that Harper would sit out for two days due to the injury. Glad to see that was wrong.

Harper trolled the manager via text messages until he conceded to let him remain in the starting lineup.   :lmao:

3-1, 2.43 ERA in five starts; had a no-decision at Nats Park on 12th April (left after five innings, allowed two runs).

Miseria Cantare as Latos's warm up music.

Solid choice.
