Only 70 something pitches.  Why pull?  At least leave him in for the 8th and 9th guys and pull at mookie or once you get to the lefties

I’ve been wrong before (Schwarber , Werth) but also right with Smith. Get Gallo the heck off of this team. Useless POS.

Mini Me already paid him, Rizzo's responsible for signing him, so he's not going anywhere.   Remember, internal politics take precedence over performance on South Capitol Street.

They have to stop playing the contracts and play on performance

Probably Davey's quick hook, but getting that extra inning from the starter is always helpful.

Yay, 8-10, two games under.  Mini Me and Rizzo have me thinking like yet another low expectations DC fan.

how fast?

I get the joke here, but there's a real point in it: he was still pumping 95 and 96 consistently in the 6th.  That's a couple ticks higher than he has been in the past.

usually davey makes the opposite mistake, leaving starters in too long.

From the Post:

"But there was a clear argument against sending Irvin out for the seventh Wednesday: He struggled last season against left-handed batters. In the sixth, lefties Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman hit balls with exit velocities of 106.7 and 99.6 mph — for a single and a double play — before Smith struck out. Set to lead off the seventh for the Dodgers: Max Muncy, who feasts against righties."
