More on the check swing thing...

A check swing on a strike three should almost always  not almost, ALWAYS be called.  Not only would the batter be trying to get a hit but he's also swinging defensively to avoid the strike out.  What are the chances that he's not swinging in that situation?

And on the low strike zone...

If MASN would use the damned pitch track more, we'd (the fans watching) would get a better sense of if the calls are good or not.  Tonight was a low strike zone and that greatly benefited Derek Lowe.

No one ever challenges Riggleman in interviews.

They don't want to get Dibbled.

Anyone catch Bob not mentioning his "former broadcast partner" by name tonight?

Funny, I actually thought he meant Don Sutton for some reason.

How can Holliday and Phil Wood NOT ask Riggleman about sending Slaten out for a 3rd inning when Broderick and Rodriguez are in the bullpen?  Put him on the freaking spot!
Slaten's longest appearance in the Majors is 2.0 innings.

Good point about them not asking Riggleman an obvious question.  That's the problem with these hometown sports networks that televise all a given team's games.  They are in bed with the franchise and are afraid to ask tough questions.

That shouldn't be considered a tough question. Frankly, that's the type of question that a manager should expect after using his bullpen the way Riggleman did last night.

Sleeping with the Nats, they must really be desperate
