Might as well have a thread, notwithstanding the apparent lack of interest.

In his 31 previous starts, Strider had given up 11 first-inning runs in total. Three so far this inning with 1 out.

Thanks Dave. I logged on and was ready to start one. Strider vs Adon is the equivalent of Levalle Speigner vs Johan Santana, except Adon is facing the 1927 NYY.

KieBoot.

But Alu has not looked bad in left, especially considering he's a 3rd baseman being turned into a utility guy.

We know that guy too well.

I'm not into betting, but I wonder how much you could have made betting that there would be a 3-0 lead after 1 inning and that the Nats would be the ones with the lead.

It’s been nice to see him get playing time

I've wanted to see him at 3rd. I like seeing guys get time at their most comfortable position when they break in to take some pressure off.  I think it helps their hitting. FWIW, he's played enough that he has passed the rookie limit.

Can Ruiz throw anyone out. I bet Hickey could steal off of him.

I really could see Adon being an opener for at least 3 innings.

that's not how the strategy works usually. the opener goes an inning or two, then the bulk inning guy comes in for 2+ times through the order. The trick is that when he starts his 3rd time through, it's against the bottom of the order. Worse hitters. If you are talking about Adon as the bulk guy, he'd pitch second, not open. But yes, I think he should be a bulk guy. He usually has his problems right about the 3rd time through the order. That 3rd time should not start with the best hitters.

i'm kind of convinced that Young is better than Robles was from 2020-2022.

this should be Adon's last hitter. Get machado up for Acuna.

Adon is beyond bad the third time through. If he stays in, might as well post the L.

The TV delay is really annoying. After the Meneses K, Franny is doing an in-game promo. I glance at the computer, and Garcia is already out before Bob announced him.

Really want Weems for the top of the order. 5 innings from the bullpen should be doable. Only Harvey threw a lot yesterday.

I still say that Weems was the right guy, just the wrong time.

weems definitely not as reliable as he was a few weeks ago
