wait till some folks see that Dukes is scratched for showing up late.  That'll get things rolling.

I like the benching. When you're 1-8, showing up on time shouldn't be an elective.

You know he is only doing this because he knows plenty in the organization were pissed at him for not benching Milledge on Opening Day. Hopefully its a sign the team is pulling the strings tighter.

Dukes should know better anyways.

I agree.  it does hurt the team.

but why in the freak didn't he bench Milledge on opening day for missing a meeting?!

I don't know. but I was nagging about it when I found out he missed a meeting. You have to have discipline in any organization (not just sports) and you have to be consistent with the punishments. I think that was what pissed FLop off so much is he felt the Nationals unfairly punished him. (Poor Baby).

I'd like to think after the Milledge fiasco to start the season, someone in management sat Acta down and was like"

A.)  Milledge is going to down to AAA to sort crap out and won't be the leadoff guy

B.)  You can't sit on the bench like a toad the whole game, show a little passion

C.)  You can't let players do whatever they want, if they need to be disciplined, then DO IT

again, this is what I would like to think happened and hopefully the attitude from the last few games continues throughout the season...

Jeremy Hermida second for Florida?
Josh Willingham out of the lineup again?

At least I, too, have JJ on my fantasy team ...

And hopefully that person was Mike Rizzo.

seriously now...he benched Dukes for showing up late...but Milledge got a pass when he showed up late, and infact Milledge *never* shows up early nor felt that he ever needed to, by his own admission.

anyone doubt that Acta's got a crush on Milledge?

What will happen when Kearns finds out?

I'm telling you the organization is pressing on Manny. He freaked up with Milledge. So what is he supposed to do? Give a Get Out of Jail Free card for everyone who comes in late?

I think Olsen will be fine as long as the defense doesn't screw him over....
