I don't get these players not taking deferred money. We aren't talking about mere mortal money, and it's not like these guys are getting 70k a year and deferring millions. You are basically taking a retirement plan with you, and I just don't understand how you "can't" live on 20M a year versus 30M. I guess if you are investing that additional 10M in something else, down the line you could set yourself up for a bigger payday, but you could also end up with less. I'm not a gambler, and I always take the sure thing.
