I'm not ready to turn on Ryan Zimmerman just yet.

Tonight the field. But so far, not the MVP candidate I was expecting. Looking more like 2009 & 2010 were fluke years.

9th inning. Zim threw it in to right field. He eats it, the Nats win.

I was driving and didn't see the game - on what batter? Justin Upton?

Almost had two errors but LaRoche bailed him out early. That last one cost us the game.

The Emperor has no clothes. Zimmm can no longer play third, I don't know if his arm is shot or its all in his head, but this is a major freaking disaster. How long do we let this continue based on years of service? His hitting will turn around, but where do we play him?

At least two more years because freaking Rizzo just had to have chinless.

He needs a "cortisone" shot.   ;)

Seriously though, while he should've held on to the ball I don't blame him for this loss. Storen was going to find a way piss it away.

No they don't.  Storen still gives up those runs.  Hell, we probably lose in the 9th instead of the 10th.

Next batter popped up. inning over. Zim eats it, we win.

What? 4-3 game over, but instead Mr Yip throws a roller into RF.

First post here but been a Nats fan since going to Opening Day in 06.

You can't put this loss on Zimm.  Giving up 3 runs in the last two innings before extras, primarily as a result of WALKS, is inexcusable.  The BP needs to get better soon or Rizzo is going to need to make some changes.

I look forward to Garcia getting back.

But the game had already been tied.   The pressure was off.

the guy is a headcase at third and it probably effects his offense.   shoulda let LaRouche go (no disrespect to Adam) and had Zimmerman move to 1st.

The next batter grounded out to 3B. But if Zimmerman holds on to the ball the bases are loaded and Storen has no room for error. And that's a recipe for disaster.

I'm not ready to give up on Zimm just yet. That last throw was bad but he's still capable of making great plays in the field. As far as his bat goes, he's always been a slow starter. Come June he'll start raking.

That's probably a good idea. He's got many years left here.

Seriously, how much worse could it have been? Even if the throw were perfect, the runner was safe. There was no play. Zimmerman should have seen that.

Honestly, where the freak did this guy's glove go? There was a point where he wws miles ahead of anyone in baseball. Now I'm not even sure of he's the best third baseman on the team.

His glove is still fantastic. It's his throwing that has been problematic.

I feel like he should just rush every throw. When he's making those on the move throws he's spot on, but when he has time to stop and think he tends to airmail them.

Seriously? Seriously seriously?

My god, how fast they turn on you. He's had rough spots before. He always sorts it out, and quickly.

This guy has been with the team far too long, done far too much, been the cause of far too many memorable moments, and is too good a ballplayer for this sort of nonsense ten games in.

Besides, there're more glaring issues we should be focusing our righteous fury, in superduper undefeatable nukular Korean-style, on. He's not batting .100, we're still 7-3. "Leave Ryan ALONE!"

More than any player in the history of the organization,  Zimmerman has earned the benefit of the doubt
