Marlins sending Luis Arraez to San Diego for Dylan Head, Woo Suk-Go, Nathan Martorella.

It seems the Nats really will finally escape the cellar this season to end the streak at 4 years in a row.

The Padres have a bottomless supply of valuable prospects to trade and Arraez is still a good hitter even if he's not chasing .400 like last season.

Arreaz doesn’t walk much or hit with power. With exception of last season. Seems they are buying high.  And need pitching.  They’re 20 in MLB team ERA. Just seems delusional that they can compete for the West.

If the Padres never made a trade they'd have a heckuva team. The Nats need to steal their scouts.

Arraez is a poor man's Tony Gwynn, which is still really good. In the past three seasons he's posted wRC+'s of 131, 132, and 109 (this season).

I admittedly don't know anything about what the Padres gave up though.

you weren't kidding about the Gwynn comparison:

via @MLB

Tony Gwynn through 569 career games: .326/.378/.427 with 25 HR

Luis Arraez through 569 career games: .324/.377/.423 with 24 HR

Willson Contreras out with a broken forearm after getting hit by a bat swing. The Cards had reportedly had him move up recently.
