Harper had 22+ WAR through his age 23 season. Soto is sitting at 20.5. They're virtually even.  Also, Harper wasnt abysmal in RF before his 23rd birthday.

Soto is a LF only OFer who is going to have to move to DH relatively soon, as his athleticism will only decrease. Everyone is acting like he's Ted Williams because of a 60 game season and the second half of a lost season.

425 million is, frankly, more than fair. He's not worth a record breaking contract. He isnt Trout. He isnt Ohtani. If its not good enough, then its time to start planning for life without Soto. He's made his choice. Money is more important than anything else to him. Let the Mets overpay for him

So the fact Soto's WAR has been higher than Harper's over the last 5 years added together are we saying Harper's production has fallen off since he's gone to the Phillie's. Must be if Harper's is higher his first 5 years compared to Soto but lower the last 5 years.

He's going to be an all-star every year of his career unless he gets hurt.

And he should be a Nat every time.

any chance he can get Long to pitch to him, or is he pitching to Schwarber?

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for a conversation between Long and Soto:

"Man, I sure do miss having you around to talk hitting."
"Hey, thanks for my multi-year contract and a chance to work with Bryce and Schwarbs again."
"Great job with Castellanos, too, dude. LOL."
"So, who you working with in right?"
"They don't pay me to field."
"That's what Bryce used to say."
"What he's been saying this year, too, but at least he's getting his money for 13 years."
"Somehow I'm not feeling the love for $350 million over 12 years, half deferred.  That $425 is BS, right?"
"They're listening to some dude named Slateman who says I'm not worth it."
