I didn't see much of the game but what is Robles doing in center. Let one drop in the first he didn't come in on. In the third Garcia didn't trust him to come in and get the short pop so he ran out and got it when it would have been an easy catch by Robles.

Yes. Was not a good look.  No reason to keep him.

Enjoyed watching.  With all the chances to see the kids, I'm more excited for the rest of ST than the actual regular season.

Grae Kessinger is grandson of Don Kessinger.

I remember watching Don Kessinger play SS for the Cubs. When I started college in Chicago, I realized that the Cubs were the Washington Senators of the National League. Kessinger and 2B Glen Beckert and, at 1B, Mr. Baseball, "Let's Play Two", Ernie Banks.

Add in Ron Santo at 3B.  Billy Williams in the OF. And you have a team ready for the 1969 collapse.

It'll be fun to see Lipscomb and Wood, and I think Yepez is someone we will see this year getting regular playing time with the Nats.

As for Robles, I don't think he should think he has a spot locked down.

Call and Young I think are fighting for a 4th / 5th OF slot, although Winker complicates things.

Oh and, yes to

Nice recap of last night.

In addition to Wood's big berm bomb, there's a nice write up of Hassell's 2 hits. Really gets on Robles and Thomas for hanging Corbin out to dry. 50 pitches from Corbin when scheduled for 35.

So what could be close to our starting line-up played a bunch of 'who dey's?', from the Cheetin - ahem - Astros - and we still lost. It is, indeed, going to be a long season... (especially with that Gold Glove fielding...   ;) )

Millas throws a guy out, Keibert misses twice by a mile and has two catchers interferences.

I say the former.  Hassel is nowhere near big league ready.  And the other mostly need more time. Getting hits off of other minor leaguers early in spring training does not mean these guys are ready for MLB.  It’s good for them to get the spring big league experience though.

Plus we are tanking!

I hope Jacob Young wins the CF job. I think we’ve all seen enough of the Victor Robles experience.

Yea please.  I don’t care if the potential upside is not as high.  Don’t need a guy who dogs it on fly balls in spring training.
