I wouldnt consider taking Trout, in the first round, really slipping through the cracks. He's certainly risen quicker than anyone imagined, but people knew the talent, and he was discussed before the draft as an elite talent. He just happened to mature and develop quickly. Everyone develops at different rates. some don't develop at all.
