I think it was in the Summer of '69 (nod to Bryan Adams...who was only 10 in '69) that I saw Brian Piccolo and some other Bears play our HS coaches in a basketball game in our gym...likely for peanuts...
So sad to lose Sayers...he and Sweetness...and Butkus, of course...were Chicago Bears football...and always will be...
It was earlier that same year I saw Sonny Jurgenson and some Redskins play the faculty at a Falls Church jhs for charity. I got his autograph and I was on cloud 9.
