Got the calls they needed down the stretch. Deserved. Pats just are a very sloppy team
Absolute crap job by the refs today

Perfect ending. Howell leads a great drive, terrible clock management makes Ron look terrible, and the defense chokes

Son was at the game.  At least he saw a close one.  Lineman just barely missed tipping that last pass.

I'm all in on Sam Howell.

If I was Eric Bieniemy, I would look at the stats about Sam Howell leading the league in passing yards and drop backs, compare the numbers to his historic sack numbers, and simply run the ball a little bit more. They've changed up the play calls to include more quick game and moving him around, and now they need to lean a bit more into the run game. I am not saying they should be a run first offense, but there has to be some medium.

Things would have to dramatically turn around to save Rivera's job. I don't want one bit of conversation about Bieniemy replacing him if Howell in the last weeks of the season is in the conversation for passing Carr's sack record.  Howell is still sticking in there, but a few more weeks of this and he'll resemble a shell shocked Patrick Ramsey who never lost that thousand yard stare after being mauled in Spurrier's offense.

We may have found a QB. They have to protect him.

Only thing I noticed about Howell yesterday is that he seems to have a bit of tunnel vision toward the middle of the field. He doesn't seem to look to the sides very often.

Still, he's light years better than what they've had in recent years. Reminds me a lot of Rypien.

Is he bring Brady with him? Post Brady, Belichick looks a lot like riverboat Ron.

Seems like speculation at this point.  No real sources.

Bellicek has been a disaster as a GM.  And then if you just mar him coach you have to worry about conflicts with the GM.

His drafts have not been good in a while. Combination of reaching for guys he likes and an aversion to highly talented skill position guys. Got to remember how some of his biggest hits, like Gronkowski, had some huge question marks (in Gronk's case, his back)

9 sacks and they're losing the game

Starting to think Howell spent the week watching Josh Allen videos

People who know NFL history better than me: what's the best 9-sack performance by a QB ever and where does this rank in comparison?

Fitting that there was no hot water after the game in FedEx locker rooms.

Rivera should be fired today. You can’t justify losing to third string QB.

I'm fairly sure Joe Montana did that in Philly to the Eagles once.

Edit: Well it was only 8 sacks.

No point now.  Why win more games and get a lower draft pick?  He's gone after the season for sure.

The Giants are the dumb ones.  Hurting their draft position with 2 wins over Washington.

Their front office tried, but their scout team qb is no match for river boat coaching for his job

Clear that Rivera and the two GMs would draft more defensive players if given a chance. Meanwhile: "team" should tank.

If they think Bienemy is a potential head coach why not fire Ron and let him take it the rest of the way?

They need to hire a real GM and let that person pick a coach.  That’s what has been lacking for years.  Can’t hire a coach first and then bring in the GM.  Just a recipe for disaster.

100% this. Rivera has basically been tasked with being the defacto GM, and he simply isnt able

I'd even be fine with keeping the coaching staff next year if a real GM is brought in. Give him a year to settle and evaluate the rest of the organization, then a full offseason to overhaul.

They can't keep either Rivera or Del Rio. Ownership is already squandering the good will from the sale by keeping them around this year.

That would mean renegotiating with Ron, no? I'm assuming his responsibilities are in his contract. And could you find a GM willing to try to pry the reigns from his hands?

Hoping that Harris is smart enough to have a plan already in place, and he's letting Ron leave his last football job with some dignity.

Letting Ron and del rio leave with dignity is not reading the fanbase well. Harris bought a team that had gone through the whole cycle of hemorrhaging fans, to fans hating the team, to apathetic fans. He has a window to get those fans back, and keeping Synder’s gang in place is not a good way to go about it
