I think this gives veterans more of an advantage than younger (or dumb) pitchers.
So, I can see Scherzer telling his catcher, "OK, the next pitch is the one that the batter has to homer on because, no matter how good I'm going, I always throw the one dinger."
I'd say Gray learned from him, but they didn't overlap. I'm sure Hickey said something like, "look at some Max video and try to throw like him"
