8 game on-base streak, 10 for his last 33 with seven XBH's in May. Slugging .636 this month as well. What a bust!
3-5, two doubles, 4 RBIs. OPS up to .816Maybe he gets moved up when Wood gets the call?
Overall slash line in May (39 PAs) .303 / .400 / .636 for a 1.036 OPS
Crews will be here before the end of the year.
8/20. book it.
In Rochester, with Hassell, by August. Crews, and maybe Hassell, will join Wood with the Nats around August, 2025 as Cavalli and others pitch the Nats toward 90 wins. (Or more than 90)
quiet day yesterday in the double-header: 2-6, SB, 0BBs, 0Ks.
Even if he's ready for AAA soon, they're going to have to make decisions about Alu, Blankenhorn, Kieboom etc. Serious backlog of mediocre hitters at both MLB and Rochester. Some will have to start falling off to make room for House, Hassell, and Crews.
Last time I looked, they were playing Kieboom at 1B...maybe decided, finally, that Kieboom cannot field 3B but might be able to scoop throws at 1B. Alu is not playing much, and his hitting has fallen away to .224 with a single homer. Blankenhorn -- is he a 3B or an OF --is hitting .250 with some power. Maybe the organization holds him when Crews and Hassell arrive around July.
Slate is right - those guys are not going to block any of the real prospects in AA.
kieboom got about 11 innings in over last weekend at 1st. They may try him there once Gallo moves up. Blankenhorn is a DH/1b/corner OF. But for Gallo, I think he would have been given a shot at 1st / DH already. I suspect we don't see him until there's a Gallo decision. Slate is right - those guys are not going to block any of the real prospects in AA.
Even if they are called up, and Wood should be now, they'll still need time to settle in like CJ and Harper did.
