Right. Because that's all he is.
WNFF doesn't seem to understand that he's a Top 15 2B in the game, warts and all. In fact, since 2011, he's 7th in WAR for all MLB 2B. (13th best in hitting. 8th in fielding) I don't think people understand how bad hitting at 2B is around the league.
If Rizzo can't get more than a LHP RP for a Top 15 2B... he's not doing his job right.
All that says is how weak the 2b position is. You say it like its a positive for Danny. Having the likes of Jamey Carroll, Jeff Keppinger, and Mak Ellis ranked higher than him isn't something to brag about.
It also shows how there are flaws in WAR. I would take Kinsler, Scutaro, and Altuve over Danny and all are below him. FWIW, I would take Danny over Keppingernand Carroll, both ranked ahead of him.
I was elated when we drafted Danny but he's clearly the weak link in the infield. Hell, hes really the weak link of position players period. He is a very good defender but that doesn't balance out with him hitting less than .250 and striking out 1 out of every 3 trips to the plate. Danny struck out at the same rate he reached base via hit/walk. He K'd 189 times, and had just 193 hits/walks. That's unacceptable.
With a potential middle of the order bat and solid glove in Rendon, th heat is definitely on Danny to produce or lose his job.
