Not to sound alarming, but all be aware that the snowfall rates around this evening's commute may be extreme and make travel very hazardous and potentially crippling. Thundersnow is possible with rates in excess of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Total accumulations of 4-8"+ in the north and west suburbs continue to seem like a good bet but may be conservative on the low end. Similarly, our forecast of 3-6"+ around D.C. and to the southeast, may be a bit conservative on the low end of that range.
