Why do I watch Nats XTRA? I hate Debbi's interviews!!

I've never watched it. Never seen the pregame show either.

Damn, really?

I like watching it for like the first 10 minutes for the interviews and comments. Then it usually just goes into recap. I liked Rigglemans interviews though.

Honestly what is the point of Maya starting this game? He's 29, sucks ass, and is a joke.

There's just always something on before and after the games that I'd rather watch. And I've never had much interest in what baseball players and coaches have to say. I just like watching the games.

There aren't many guys who truly enjoy being here and playing here as much as Storen. He's an incredibly bright guy, has unbelievable composure and toughness, and could be our closer for the next decade.

If the price is right I understand it but damn if it wouldn't hurt a little.

Sportsnyan getting uncharactaristically sentimental here.

Damn, I think I got a little something in my eye.    :'(

Trading Drew would definitely cause my black heart to go a little faint.  Might even get me to crack a tear.  Just a really, really, really nice guy that loves this team and the fans and, as Sportsnyan so eloquently put it, has unbelievable composure and toughness not found in most 23 year olds.  If tonight was one of his last nights with the team he went out like a champ.

Yeah, I don't want to see him traded, but if we get the right deal in return, I can deal with it. Doesn't mean I'm going to be happy about it... at first.

I didn't get a chance to post in last nights GDT, but I noticed something while watching some of the game. Gee or whatever his name is, was really dealing and had a pretty good pace going. Why do we rarely ever see our guys stepping out of the box in an attempt to mess with the pitchers tempo? Is it not effective? What's the deal?

I just remembered that if we DL Maya, we can call Bernadina back up within the 10 days. We'd need to call up a starter for Thursday, but I presume we're going to trade another big leaguer before the deadline, so we can call up another SP then.

I don't think Bernadina has a role on the team right now.

Before the game I found out that Tyler Clippard was signing in the Centerfield store!  So I got his auto on his program!  Awsome!

I've never watched it. Never seen the pregame show either.

I've never had my home telly tuned in to MASN, period.

ANYWAY - for the first time in way too long:

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 50th win, each season:

2005 - 3rd July (81st match of season)
2011 - 30th July (106th match)
2007 - 4th August (110th match)
2006 - 9th August (113th match)
2010 - 13th August (116th match)
2008 - 29th August (135th match)
2009 - 13th September (143rd match)

Damn, it's amazing how fast we went from keeping pace with 2005 to now approaching 07 and 06, with 05 25 games behind us. We will never approach 08-09, but this season could easily end up catching up with 2010 to put us as the third worst. It's not quite the freefall the Mariners accomplished, but damn, it's not exactly good either.

Thanks.....I miss these posts. I commented about a month ago  that we will never catch the 2005 version until the last week of the season if then. But I do compare games behind and we are 25 games worse than the 2005 team. I still feel that this is the best squad we have had here in DC even though there is a lot of turmoil with  the roster now.

The '05 Overachievers' 50th win was the finale of an away sweep of the Cubs, and the last win in a 6-match winning streak. They would go 31-50 the rest of the way, starting with a Fourth of July loss to the Mets.

If we can get anything approaching our June groove back, we can start closing some ground on '05, or at least opening up some more space on the mediocre '06/'07/'10 editions; the '08/'09 train-wrecks are pretty safely in our rear-view mirror now (I think, despite our recent skid, we'll win more than 59).

Heh. To reach 59 wins at this point, we need to go 9-47.

Yep we went from 19 games above to 19 below. Still had a shot at a winning record on the last day and we ended on a 3 game losing streak to drop us to .500.
