You seem to think you're rebutting my point (multiple times) by showing a 30 year old who's averaged fewer than 25 starts over the past 4 years and is owed ~135 million over remainder of his contract.
200 IP last year, 2.2 BB/9, 11.1 K/9, 3.15 ERA
That's pretty good.
It is. On the other hand, his career ERA is 3.91. I like him. He's a good pitcher and a good athlete - he'll add to the crop of decent-hitting pitchers, as well. But he's subject to the same uncertainties as all starting pitchers and he's already got 630 innings on his TJ-repaired elbow.
