Our hitters are so dumb. Why are they letting Padilla take so long on the mound? Milledge is now 1 for his last 22.

This feels just like last night's game. 1 run deficit going into the 7th inning and then our relievers put the game completely out of reach.

Guz? Wasn't his idea to steal.
Yes it was.

How the hell do you know? Very few runners are given the green light to steal whenever. Guzman definitely is not one of them.

If Milledge and Dukes have the green-light then so does Guzman. Why would Manny send the runner in that situation?

It's not a terrible decision, considering that if he makes it, a single scores him to tie up the game.

Maybe I missed it, but since when do Milledge and Dukes have the green light?

Since the beginning of the season. Manny says as long as they keep above 75% they have the green light.

Do we have any decent left-handed relievers?  Because Texas eats up right-handers, about the best hitting team in MLB.  But they're poor against lefties.

Carpenter: "Debbi Taylor has kept us a breast all year long..."
Where IS it.  And WHOSE is it?

QFT. Ayala should have been released weeks ago. He just can't pitch anymore. He hasn't been the same since the surgery.

As usual, the bullpen blows the game out of reach

ML UPDATE:  Zinicola comes in for Columbus and cleans up Martis mess by getting a SO followed by a DP
At Harrisburg:  Stammen making his debut, going 6.0 IP with 4 Hs and 1 ER, 4 SO thus far

We don't have a 3rd base coach.  We hired the guy who gave Manny his first coaching job, but he's horrific at coaching there.  That's why we're one of the worst base-stealing teams in baseball, and take unneeded outs on the base paths too.  We'll have to fire Manny to get a 3rd base coach.  Ironic, since that's where Manny coached for the Mets...

Vazquez singled to right, Byrd scored, Saltalamacchia to third.

Nationals 1
Short Sucks 3

nice play by Orr. That would have really opened up the flood gates.

Liking the fielding by Orr.  On a side note, Larry Broadway just blasted a grand slam down at Columbus to put them up 5-4.

I think I need to replace Milledge with Dukes though. I'm not convinced at all that Milledge is going to be a long-term starter for us.

Trade Flores and Lannan. They deserve better.
