The team wasn't serious about contending this year. They needed to get a cleanup hitter at the deadline and didn't even make any offers as far as I know.

just stop, Ray. It is not just people being negative to be negative anymore. This is reality. The team is bad and has way too many flaws to make a recovery. Doesn't help that the Mets can do no wrong and are the biggest story in baseball.

This team isn't good enough to win. Especially with Matt freaking every single decision up.

You were right about Storen being left in to face CarGo, the numbers screamed Rivero.

Yup. Easy decision if you look at the numbers. Yes maybe Rivero would have failed and walked CarGo but the splits were so glaring to just ignore.

Those are the types of decisions that Matt doesn't have the balls to make. It would have pissed off Drew but it was the right move.

SF burner account?

He's the only one I've seen use the dog metaphor before.

It's a WEZ thing.  Lots of miami hurricanes fans say choking dog a lot.  Why do all the teams I like with the exception of my hockey team I want their coaches fired.

FP says you have to quit talking about tomorrow.  Matt has mentioned tomorrow at least 3 times in this presser

tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow strasburg tomorrow tomorrow.

I was at a game a few years ago where the Rockies pummeled Strasburg at Nats Park. Expecting a similar result tomorrow.

But Drew had already walked a batter and given up 2 hits, obviously he didn't have it. That in conjunction with CarGo's skills and the score (and bases loaded) should have dictated the change in strategy.

I don't know how Lerner doesn't call Rizzo up right now and tell him that MW is fired.  This team needs a spark desperately.   Even an idiot that's a rah rah guy like old man tommy lasorda that's one foot in the grave would be better than stone faced gum chewing matt williams.

I think he'll be decent for the rest of the season but the Rockies should pound him. But the Nats should pound Eddie Butler. That was another problem tonight. They should be scoring double digits vs the Rockies. Offense still stinks.
