But, knowing what you do know, I think having Rendon at $30 million a year for 7 would have been better.

He may have even shown up for the WS Anniversary Celebration yesterday...and not just on his video recording...

Rendon should have taken the Lerner's offer. It was more per year than Trea is getting from the Fillies, and would have paid him until his late 30s. He has become a wreck and a joke of a ballplayer.

Interesting suggestion that Rendon's injuries might have, partly, come from lazy training during the offseason.

Dodged a bullet there...

Unlike Strasburg, he wasn't willing to defer salary.

Once he got paid, he got incredibly soft.  Happens, but Rendon's case is one of the worst ever.

...and he's on the IL again

They called him safe on that play? He didn't even come close to touching first.

he should just retire at this point.
He's not going to retire and give up all is owed to him.  He's probably hoping to be cut.

Erick Fedde has turned into an ace:

8.1 yesterday vs Tampa, 7H, 2ER, 0BBs, 9Ks

2.60 / 1.07 on the year so far. Chicago needs to trade him ASAP.

I wonder if he has a no trade list and the Nats are on it.

Rendon's performance is the only cold comfort of the Strasburg deal. It isn't like he is killing it in LA.

I was cheering for Rendon until that interview where he wouldn't even give a cliché answer about liking playing for the Angels and their fans. Now, karma.

I've watched the Phillies the last two nights. Trea Turner is killing at the plate and stealing bases like crazy but he sure does stink at short. He was responsible for 4 Angels runs tonight and only escaped an error last night due to a generous scorers decision.

They probably should move him to 2B and Stott to SS.

With Tristan Casas on the 60 day IL, the Red Sox have added Dom Smith to their roster as the strong side of platoon with Garrett Cooper and Bobby Dalbec.

Charlie interviewed John Lannan on the pregame.  He’s now a mental performance coach for the Blue Jays.

Jackson Reetz makes his first MLB appearance  since 2021. And hits a HR off of Jose Alvarado.

I dunno. It kind of seems like Doo is working out. Pitchers seem... better than expected.
