Weird how "the SEC is basically high A ball" and there's a kid at Indianapolis, who went straight from the SEC to AAA, who in 5 starts has a 0.53 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP with 34 Ks in 17 IP

There are exceptions to every rule...

True, but I'm pretty confident Slate will be as wrong about Crews as he was about Abrams.

Not sure what exactly it is that you see in Crews to make you think he's not just another guy.  I think he'll become a serviceable MLB player along the lines of Lane Thomas...plug and play, but don't expect too much...

...and he'll finish that career somewhere else...

The latter is most likely true.

Crews is still a top ten MLB prospect in just about every ranking.  So the experts feel he will be an above average MLB player. Doesn’t mean a superstar. And he could fail.  Walker was just sent down and Holliday struggling.

I expect Crews to be a slightly better hitter than Thomas and a better fielder. Only time will tell.

I get that for some Crews watchers, he hasn't exceeded their wildest dreams and the smile has left your eyes. But, don't cry. Crews will be just fine in the heat of the moment when he arrives. Perhaps out of the draft class of 2023 he will be the sole survivor.

I see what you did there.

Asia is touring this summer but I don’t think it includes any of the original members.

John Wetton died a few years ago.

I remember back in the 80's being hyped to watch "Asia in Asia" on MTV, I think they were playing in Japan. Wetton IIRC, was fired shortly before. Greg Lake filled in on vocals but it wasn't the same.

I looked it up, Geoff Downes is still part of the lineup, but he's the only original left.

Just so we're clear, these are the same experts that had Victor Robles as a top 10 prospect and above average MLB player?

And Dominic Brown. And some others who have failed. But they are usually right.  Or else no one would pay attention.

I’m fine with him in Double A most of the year.  No rush. Unless he just dominates there.

You were very wrong on Abrams.  So you missed just like the experts sometimes.

I fail to see how its "irrelevant" especially considering the 41 from this season mirror.

He is simply overmatched by Double A and will likely need significant time to develop the appropriate skill levels. Like Wood, he needs to stay, and thrive, at his current for a substantial amount of time before being promoted.

The SEC is basically high A ball. The best pitchers Crews faced are currently in A ball. His struggles with breaking stuff were well documented. The idea that he's going to be ready for Triple A in a month is pretty laughable. He isnt Bryce Harper or Mike Trout. He's just a guy and he's going to take a while to get to the big leagues.

Bryce was hitting .243 in AAA when he was promoted.  The year prior he hit .256 in AA.

Phils should send him back down until he hits .300 at each level to prove he's ready for the show

He gets 100 plate appearances after an injury!

Good to see him back.
