I feel bad for Wily Mo. He just can't hit a baseball. So Brandon Webb throws him the first strike in his 2 ABs and he watches it.

For some reason I always think Bernadina's first name is Rocky.

The fans need to start letting Pena have it. Acta may have to bench him then to spare him the ridicule.

remember bowden knows what he's doing (keeping wmp, flop and hanrahan) and the lerners will spend money for our team for years to come!  we're all in good hands folks!

he needs to be getting the 2005 Guzman treatment. right now.

boo every time his name is mentioned.

I don't believe in booing our own players, but dammit......Pena deserves Boos.

Kearns is going to be the best hitter on the team by the end of the year.  That injury was really hurting his swing.

Shell is minor league trash. He's just as bad as Sanches.

Just getting in and catching up on the thread.  The ump that tossed Perez, Angel Hernandez, has tossed me from a couple high school games down here.  I'd always b*tch at him about his fundamentally poor stance behind the plate causing him to shift the strike zone about 4 to 6 inches in towards the batter.

Usually you can tell when he's behind the plate because he's shifted way towards the batter.  I wouldn't have recognized him tonight since he's aligned somewhat centered.

Note this post because it may be the only time we've ever agreed.

Does he moonlight as a HS ump?

Shell has an ERA of 2.92, but he gets compared to Sanches...

with sportsfan, you are only as good as your last pitch. he lives and dies on each pitch, and has a tendency to kneejerk about everything. that's just how he is.

you'll get used to it.

ERA means crap to relief pitchers, it's all about their WHIP.

oh come on. Sanches had a low ERA too when he first came here. Shell has given up 9 walks and 11 hits in 12.1 IP here. His ERA will regress to what it should be in no time.
