But I did just eat a chocolate covered peep, so who am I to criticize. No chemical engineering going on there. Nope.

Frozen, raw chicken - how long can you keep it in the freezer?

Cicadas last a long time in the freezer. I remember an article in 2004 (shortly before the latest Brood X bonanza) where the reporter interviewed a guy in Rockville who was still eating the Class of '87 out of his freezer (and yes, he was in fact French).

Technically, forever since freezing stops the growth of bacteria.  But the quality goes down because of things like freezer burn.

I'm defrosting a large pack of Empire chicken thighs as we post. Still trying to decide on how to make them- maybe cacciatore? Have to go to the store, so if I'm delayed there's always Shake and Bake.

Salty-
one of my favorite things to do with thighs is to sear them, put them in a crock put with some chicken stock, prunes, carrots, some cinnamon, maybe some alspice and whatever else you have lying around and do them morrocan style. Serve over some couscous and raisins.

One of the very few veggie meals that are meatlike enough to satisfy old TT.

Ground chickpeas, WELL seasoned, then deep fried and served on pita bread with lots of other stuff, like yogurt/garlic sauce or hommus, fresh cucumber chunks, whatever.  Very tasty.

So vegetarian, which isn't my forte, but it is deep fried, which most certainly is ;)

Sounds like something I would try if I didn't live in BFE.  Still need to try pho too.

The falafel balls have a meatlike texture, and plenty of flavor due to the seasoning.

Kosher, authentic Israeli-style falafel and shawarma, which is a chicken gyro.
