Home plate blue interjected himself into the game.  Time for the change.

I think the debate is over. Technology has put a spotlight on the incompetence of the home plate umpires and how they affect the outcomes of the games. And the technology is now here to make the change. MLB is experimenting with the technology at the lowers levels. I predict automated strike calls within three years.

This WS is going to be the nail in the human umps coffin.  Its becoming too much of a story with how inconsistent (bad) the strikes zones have been.

Watchin' the game last night, I was thinking about some kind of hybrid robot/human system.    Like with players, umps should be able to be replaced during a game.    Use the electronic device to monitor an ump's calls.   If his zone is off (number of strike calls, etc.) by a certain %, he is replaced by another ump from the crew.    He's havin' a bad day.

Can't see that working for umps seeking to retain credibility, let alone the “don’t show me up” culture.  Make it moot like in tennis; the umps have plenty of other responsibilities to cover.

Don't "call 'em out".    Simply replace 'em between innings.    How many people not in a food or bathroom line pay attention to that?    How many other responsibilities does a home plate umpire have during a game?

But we have this now with the challenges on certain plays. Technology is correcting incorrect calls and life goes on because video doesn’t lie.

The guy in front of me was showing the gamecast. It reminded me the Sanchez got a much different umpire in St. Louis.

Automated strike calls will be in the next CBA with umps. They won't have a choice. I think once the umps see how well how it works they will go for it. They will still collect a paycheck and stand behind the plate and pretend to make calls. And they won't have to listen to all the nagging and second guessing. Makes their jobs easier and that is all those fat freaks care about.

The debate is over for anyone following the game in a serious manner.

#WorldSeries2019 Game 3 Umpire Report

Name: Gary Cederstrom
Correct Call Rate: 91.5%
Calls helping #Nationals: 3
Calls helping #Astros: 11
Largest miss: 1.67 inches

Sorry @Nationals, but a four game sweep isn't good for @MLB's bottom line.

Some of yhose were really bad. A couple of the misses should've been strike 3

Was there one of those for game one? Games 2,3 and 4 seemed to heavily favor Houston
