I sadly have to agree with spoprtsfan here.
They have 7 more innings to hit and so do we. I suspect we won't end this game with 3 runs on the board.
What a great setup-closer combo we have here.
I'll say it again. We are going to regret not scoring more than three runs in the first inning.
Big win.
We'd have to have a historic collapse to really end this season on a bad note.
How can you excuse 7 straight innings without a run against the likes of Ramon Ortiz and crappy bullpen? Just puzzling, some hard hit outs but a lot of bad ABs with RISP as usual. Desmond, Werth, Stairs, the usual culprits.
We lucked out on this one. Any win is good. But I don't feel good about this one at all.
Either way, it's fun to feel like the team is somewhat relevant this late in the season.
Late? Were still days away from the All-Star break.
above .500 past the midpoint is a nice place for us right now.
It's a nice place for most teams.
A shame the Braves and Phillies never lose making the division and wild card a distant hope. Still, Nats are one of 16 teams in baseball with a winning record.
But hey, those teams are going to be old soon, remember?
The Phillies do have older players but they only seem to be getting better with age. It's like those bastards will be good forever.
