They can't all be chaw-spittin' rednecks
I know some folks don’t like him for his outspoken political views but the guy pitched through some arm issues for the team so he is A OK with me and his role in the championship will not be forgotten.

Add him to the list of guys who should never ever have to pay for one of their own drinks in the DC area again.

I almost forgot how awesome Rendon was in that Game 5 against the Dodgers and how great having Rendon and Soto back to back was.

I think any honest assessment of Doolittle would have him as one of the two best relievers to wear a Nats uni. Cordero would be the other, and I'd let folks figure out the order.  Hudson, Rauch might be the next level, with Melancon (too short a time) and it's looking like Finnegan a step below that. Both Finny and Harvey could move way up the list if they stick around and perform.

definitely agree with you JCA.

He was arguably the most important regular season player on the team in 2019 given how poorly the rest of the bullpen performed until we got Hudson. He finished 55 games for us that season, with 29 saves in 37 chances, plus 2 holds.

Tom won the presidents’ race tonight riding the Bullpen Cart and holding a sign that said “Thanks Doo”

Nice shout out to the UVA alum.

He legitimately likes being here. I felt Stras does as well.

Only because he echoes your views. If he was a Trump supporter would you feel the same?

Yep, always gratifying when a player is as into a team as the fans are.

We have a thread on players and politics in an odd place: the politics section. So please put substantive political stuff there. Plenty of folks loved him and hated him and his wife for it, same as a few other players whose politics may have differed. I don't want to lock the thread so drop it.

I really want to get a Doo jersey. Him and Scherzer was probably my favorite pitchers to watch.

Just want to reiterate what JCA said. General posts about Doo being politically active are fine. It’s part of who he was. Discussion of actual political views are no-no and will get the thread closed. Doo doesn’t deserve that.

I prefer for all people to discuss issues and solutions and leave the politicians out of it completely.
