The Clubhouse / Re: Will the Real Joey Meneses Please Stand Up? (2024)

What's the downside of keeping fan favorite Joey Meneses up? What prospect is he blocking? What deep playoff run is he preventing? It's fun when he gets a big hit against a much better team.
It's fun when anybody gets a hit against a much better team.  Meneses is living off 2 good months, two years ago.

House is not tearing up AA: .241 - .792 OPS. Lipscomb ought to be back with the Nats. He hits, he steals bases, and he fields 3B. Nats don't need both Gallo and Menesses at 1B. As you suggested, send Menesses to Rochester to work on his swing.
Lipscomb has a reputation for fielding 3B, but the reality is that he struggled on defense while up with the club.  It's probably not fair to him that they moved him around so much but if he wants to stick in the majors, he will have to figure it out.  His hitting is not good enough (yet?).  Having said that, I would prefer him over Senzel!!!!!

even if you take out the home run suppression, Gore, Williams, Parker, and Irvin all have xFIPs under 4. Irvin, Gore, and Parker don't have super low BABIP or weirdly high strand rates (Irvin arguably is a bit snake bit at 60 LOB%). The latter 3 have 14% or higher K%-BB%. Williams is the only one who really looks unsustainable.
Corbin posting starts with three or fewer runs is completely unsustainable

Interesting read - if only to demonstrate the (financial) chasm which is opening between the PL and the Championship.

Mavs are going to punish the Wolves.   Luka will eat that defense alive.   Wolves offense doesn’t have the firepower to keep up

Other than Gore no one is going to sustain those numbers. You’re living ina dream world.

Corbin will sustain good or bad.  Irvin I think will even improve.   Williams needed to be traded two weeks ago.  Gore is going to become an ace

The mayor’s statement was a train wreck. Scheffler’s lawyer made the cops look incompetent. I’m sure the DA can’t wait to quietly drop the charges on them
Per Follow the Money, a sports betting show, the security officers directing players and visitors for the Louisville PGA have all been wearing bright yellow jackets, just like the cops wore. Scheffler might not have realized the difference. Another cop reportedly told Scheffler to drive around the accident scene, which he did.

The asshats who detained him will probably do traffic control for the rest of their careers. Especially the jackass cop who didn't like being taped by ESPN, saying "He's going to jail!"

If the PGA moves the tournament to another venue, those cops should plan on being fired. the PGA should say, "FIRE those cops or we will move this tournament elsewhere!" Thousand of people watch those matches and it brings in lottsa $$$.

Pretty epic collapse by Denver tonight. I only caught the last five minutes but their shooting was awful.
