Was about 20 minutes behind you guys, as I was watching on mlb.tv and had paused a few times.

All I can say is, What the freak?

CB goes smirking away like it is a joke to him.
He had that look on his face right before the (real) last pitch like "yeah, I'm pretty sure I screwed up."

Yep, if he considers this a foul tip:

Dusty was hot after the game. He had that look like he wanted to give Bucknor a piece of his mind. Good for JW for actually doing it. Gotta think there's gonna be a conversation between the Nats and MLB. That was as bad of an umpiring job as I've ever seen, start to finish.

Automated balls and strikes needed; and foul tips.  No reason to have humans blow the calls.

That's by far the worst home plate umpire performance I've ever seen.

Foul tips are not reviewable. There's no way Ron Washington - or anyone for that matter - should have been able to talk the umps into resuming the game. Bucknor and whoever the crew chief is (God, I hope it's not him) should be disciplined. MLB Network was showing the grounds crew was already on the field with their mowers and they had to be rushed off.

Crew Chief was the ump working 2nd Base tonight (forgot his name).  Not CB.

Crew chief and CB should be suspended for 2 weeks.

Home - CB Bucknor, First Base - Manny Gonzalez, Second Base - Fieldin Culbreth, Third Base - Mark Carlson

Serious question:    Are umpires give random drug tests?

I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV but I've been around the block a few times.     It appeared to me he was incapacitated/"distracted"  to some degree.    He was indecisive.    He seemed to have spatial issues.  He had a "far away look".   He was almost obsessed at times with sweat (or some irritant) on his brow.    He looked confused/dazed when another umpire led him off the field as Werth yapped at him at the end of the game  ....  Up front, I don't think Bucknor is a major league quality umpire but there was something odd about his demeanor and responses to situations last night that made me do a double take several times.    It could have been as simple as flu medication or such.    Hell, it could have been personal issues.     To this eye, it was odd behavior at times.

Maybe he was just unhappy being in Atlanta?

Well, there is that.    Maybe the crew had traffic issues before the game.

Nothing of that kind was mentioned on the radio broadcast, at least.

He's been awful for years and years.  He's bad enough that I would avoid going to a game if I knew he was behind home plate.
