Do we think this is truly a decision that was solely made by Dusty anymore? I would argue no.

remember this...

As several Cubs players, coaches and front office members crowded the president's desk in the Oval Office, Ricketts was caught on camera saying of the Nationals: "We're going to run into these guys in the playoffs. You'll see them crumble."

Trump replied: "Probably will."

Dusty has no say on Strasburg.  It's a Rizzo/Maddux call.

Can anyone imagine past pitchers like Spahn, Gibson, Koufax, Marichal, Drysdale, Palmer, Ford, etc not making a deciding game start cause they were "under the weather?" If SS is "feeling bum," what's to say he's not feeling just as bad or worse for a G5?

I'm really hoping Dusty was bluffing to play games with the Cubs. If stras is to chicken crap to pitch a emilatation game on full rest we have bigger problems.

I have to say, if Stras doesn't pitch tomorrow it is either the worst decision by manager or the most gutless thing I've ever seen in sports.

What if Strasburg truly feels that Roark is going to give us the best chance to win tomorrow?  Have you thought about that possibility?

No

You have to be a plant by the organization. Literally no one can be this positive about this situation.

Mad bc our 175 mill ace won't pitch a elimination game bc is has a stuffy nose. Not about rain, I actually wanted him to sack up and pitch on short rest today. Tin Man Stras has no heart.

From Grant “Pops an eye ball if Rendon bats lower than 3rd” Paulson:

Honestly if they said he’d thrown a bullpen and tweaked his elbow and wanted an extra day rest just to be cautious, none of us would have the pitchforks out. If the guy is *this* sick then it’s questionable how much he helps us to win, and if the offense doesn’t show up, it’s a moot point anyway.

I’m gonna go light a candle or burn some sage or some crap, and pray to the Ghost of WBC Tanner to come bless us with his presence (even if the first batter he faces gets an accidental plunk).

Did you pay him?

Do I spend my money supporting the team? Yes.

I would just shut Stras down for the rest of the playoffs personally.  I mean we are already down 2-1 and he could hurt himself.  Probably best to save him for all of the future playoff years we have coming up!
