Every year I tell myself to write down my predictions on OPS numbers for key players. Ten plus years of telling myself this, I’m still at final home stand mad that I did not do this.

The Lane number is great. The Joey Meneses number is low.

I don't understand how Smith and Joey have practically the same stats except Joey has 40 more rbi. How can you fail that consistently when you are an average hitter?

This is just a wild ass guess but I think there is a correlation to the fact that of his 11HR’s 9 have been solo shots and almost half have been in non critical times. He does not perform when it counts and therefore has an abysmal BA with RISP. He should be batting 8th.

I meant how can he be that unproductive when he's an average hitter? It takes a perverse skill to be that futile when you are basically an average hitter skill-wise.

Simple answer and it’s not bad luck. He chokes.

Is there no minor league we can call up to use instead of Machado? Like, surely someone deserves an MLB paycheck for a couple weeks.

Fall way behind, crawl back closer, give up a three-run homer...

Doolittle is in the building. Could he throw an inning for old times sake?

Missed it earlier but he threw out the first pitch to Parra
