Clearing out to the west.     Looks like the front blew through E. Loudoun.

Any threat of a shower or thundershower should wane by 8 p.m. or so, as humidity starts to decrease.

Not bad downtown.  Dry now.  Doesn't look like any rain has hit so far.

The radar loop here looks like the storms associated with the front cleared.  I don't see a second line.

From WUSA9:

Games 3, 4 & 5* - Washington, DC

In DC, our forecast isn't perfect. We'll be watching a developing low pressure system that brings a wet 24 hours to the DC area in the middle of the home stretch. Models don't 100% agree on the timing of this. Right now, we think Friday's game will squeeze by dry and the rain holds off until early Saturday morning. Saturday's game would be miserable with rain and temps in the 50s. This could lead to a delay or postponement. Sunday looks colder but dry.

Disclaimer: this is a forecast for 7+ days out. It WILL change. But this can help to give you an idea of what you could experience at the games or any outdoor watch parties.

It would be hard to top the crap weather of ChiSox/Astros Game 2 in '05...no delays.

latest from Capital Weather Gang:

Quote
Friday may bring some increasing clouds, but it should still be a pretty pleasant day. After lows in the 40s, highs reach the 60s. Some showers are possible Friday night, with lows near 50. Confidence: Medium

We’re confident another storm system will affect the region over the weekend, but the timing is a huge wild card. The American model favors rain early Saturday, but then clearing by the second half of the day and remaining dry Sunday. The European model predicts a much slower-developing situation. It forecasts dry conditions through Saturday afternoon but rain likely Saturday night and Sunday. Highs both days should average near 60 (add a few degrees if it’s dry, subtract a few degrees if it’s rainy) with lows near 50. Confidence: Low

What exactly happens if the rain is so bad that Friday has to be postponed?  Hard to imagine them doing a WS double-header, but what alternative is there?  Push the entire schedule back a day?

Right. I mean, they finish with two in the dome in Houston. Unless there's a hurricane/flood. How likely is that in Houston? :|

Not as likely at the end of October as in August.

More importantly, weekend forecast in DC seems to be improving.

We need a rain out, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Why do we need a rainout? I figure it helps them more than it would help us.

Break up the momentum.  Give us a chance to catch our breath after getting wiped out two nights in a row.
