This is the kid's 4th ML start. I have no problem with him taking a few lumps. I'm not giving up on him. Just as long as he doesn't make a habit of it.
I agree, rookies take there bumps. Zimm came out and absolutely stunk in the first inning. I am willing to partially put it off to the mound, because it is a bit higher than other parks and his pitches were all sitting high in that first inning. The fact that he didn't adjust after he left a few hanging, though, is on him. What I do like is that he was able to regain his composure and keep pitching (and pitch pretty well at that).
Wouldn't it be great if Dunn could launch one here.
