Just Umpiring FYI

We are 4-4 with this umpiring crew and 1-1 with this plate umpire.

We don't even have a guy w/ over 30 RBI yet. :(

If you extrapolate Flores' numbers over 233 ABs (The number of ABs Russell Martin has had) his numbers would be:

33 doubles, 9 HRs, 53 RBIs, 26 BBs, 67 Ks

Flores > Russell Martin. It's really not even close especially when you consider that Martin has been playing for 3 years and Flores was in A ball 2 years ago.

I wouldn't go that far yet. Flores still needs to prove that he can be this consistent for a full season. I'm not doubting him, but he still needs to actually do it.

Heck, even just compare Flores numbers this season (101 ABs) to Martin's numbers this season (233 ABs).

Martin: 11 Doubles, 5 HR, 29 RBIs, 39 BBs, 33 Ks, 6 SBs, (.312 AVG, .412 OBP, .424 SLG) IN 233 ABs

Flores: 14 Doubles, 4 HR, 24 RBIs, 11 BBs, 29 Ks, 0 SBs (.327 AVG, .400 OBP, .584 SLG) IN 101 ABs

Absolutely a must win. It'd be nice if Redding had his first good start in about a month. I think we'll score runs though.

Flores isn't considered a rookie this year is he?  If he was he'd be in contention for ROY

Especially since my Rice Owls and my Turkey national side (UEFA) are each getting clobbered right now. :(

This is off wikipedia:

To qualify for the award a player must exceed neither of the following, before the season under consideration:
A.)  130 at bats or 50 innings pitched in the major leagues
B.)  45 days on the active roster of a major league club (excluding time on the disabled list or any time after rosters are expanded on September 1)

No. He was on the active roster all last season and also had over 130 (180) at bats.

The 45 days rule does him in. :(
