The Rockies used Kyle Freeland, their top pitcher, as a pitch runner last night. He injured his arm/shoulder sliding into home.

Divisions with no team under .500:

AL East
NL Central

Division with no team above .500

AL West

Teams with surprising start but won't sustain current pace:

Yankees - 12-6
Guardians - 12-5
Royals - 11-6
Tigers - 10-7
Pirates - 11-7

Not sure why you include the Yankees.  Not going to keep up their 12-3 start but they seem a 90 win team to me.  They have a dude named Soto.

The baseball preview magazine I got predicted the Yankees to win the AL East. I just don't think they will keep up near the 12-6 pace. I don't think their starting pitchers will hold up with Cole hurt. Judge will heat up but I'm not impressed with their overall lineup. I did see they came back in the 9th today.

It could be worse. The white Sox have been shut out seven of their first 19 games.

Yankees announced that radio announcer John Stirling is retiring immediately due to health concerns. He's 85. The team will hold a ceremony to honor him on Saturday.  That's not good.

I saw some stats on Sterling: He has called 29.5% (5,420) of all Yankee games in team history, and nearly half (211) of their playoff games. He has been their radio voice for 64 years.

They plan to use fill-ins the rest of the season and then WFAN and the Yankees are expected to name a permanent replacement next offseason. Man, I’m worried Charlie Slowes could be a candidate as he has roots in New York…

After their 10-4 start, the Dodgers are in danger of falling to being a .500 team with a loss today.

Also fun fact: if the Dodgers lose to the Mets today, no team in the NL West will have a winning record.

And currently, no team in the AL West has a winning record, though that could change tonight if the Mariners and/or Rangers win.

Aaron Boone ejected for a fan yelling at the ump (the ump thought it was Boone).

there was a time maybe 10+ years ago we did a survey of the demographics on WNFF at its most active period. There was a bi-modal distribution of the age of active members, with one mode in the 18-24 age bracket and another in the 45+ category. Heavily male orientation. The joke was "WNFF - where men over 45 can talk to younger men ages 18+."
