Tony Armas, RHP (5-3, 3.67)
Armas is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA during his career against th Brewers. In his last start, Armas was perfect through three innings against the Phillies, but he had a tough time getting hitters out in the fourth. After giving up consecutive singles to Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley, Armas gave up a three-run home run to Bobby Abreu on a 3-1 pitch, giving the Phillies a 3-0 lead. Armas allowed another run in the seventh, when he walked right-hander Brett Myers to allow Aaron Rowand to score.

VS.

Jorge De La Rosa, LHP (2-1, 8.31)
The lefty moved into the starting rotation at Pittsburgh last week and lasted just three innings, partly because he developed a blister and mostly because he surrendered six runs and a pair of Jose Castillo home runs. Still, Brewers manager Ned Yost saw enough to offer De La Rosa another start, hoping the talented but inconsistent 25-year-old can finally find a niche on a pitching staff that has waited him out for two-plus seasons.

That's a "we've already won the series, this game is just gravy" kind of lineup.

Do we know if Harris is playing because of Zimmerman's "injury" from yesterday or is it because they're starting a lot of reserves in this game?

The Snakes are beating up on the Braves early in Atlanta.   8)

The Braves just gave up back to back homeruns and are trailing 4-0 in the second inning.

I'd really like the Braves to win this game, so they're not as desperate tomorrow.

Strange reasoning...the more the Braves lose the closer we are to third place.  I don't mind them losing at all.

Their level of desperation will make beating them more difficult for us and them losing to us is more important than them losing to someone else.

In any event, I wish Sosa could have pitched against us because he SUCKS!

He must be channelling the essence that Dan Kolb left in Atlanta.

I love the Brewers retro Sunday jerseys...reminds me of my little league days when I used to trade baseball cards with my buddies in the neighborhood.    :)

Ugh, Alfonso.  You gave a bad pitcher a free out.

Not for Alfonso, we'd be leading 1-0 with runners on 2nd and 3rd, with no outs.

argh.. We should be killing this bum.  The Brewers announcers talk like Jorge De la Rosa is the greatest pitcher in the big leagues.  Just because he throws fast doesn't mean he is good.  He is lucky to have got out of the first inning after giving up 3 hits.

  • Werth on a roll!!!!
You see a lot of one handed grabs these days.......... I remember my baseball coach would have emphasis on you using both hands and sometimes if you didn't, there would be repercussion.

Clayton strikes out on a pitch that is bounced about a foot in front of the plate.  Good eye Royce.   :?

Most Little Leaguers won't swing at one of those.  Was Roycie going to swing at the next pitch, no matter what?
Say, has anyone ever gotten a hit or a homer off one of those?
